      Feedback:
Is there a way to setup TP so that when I move a feature between releases (or from the backlog) it will also move the user stories and bugs along with it?
It seems like in the current system, sometimes it does these things and sometimes is doesn't. When planning releases this is a pain because it means I have to create views to try to trackdown and verify that stories and bugs are in the releases where their owning feature is.

Targetprocess SupportAdminTargetprocess Support (Admin, Targetprocess) commented  ·

In TP2, when you select a feature in the list and press 'More Actions > Move to project', it moves both Feature and all User Stories inside.
In Targetprocess3 it is just not possible to perform the same action within few clicks.

      Feedback;

We are working on a user story
and our QA wants to add a bunch of bugs to that story
so he did that from within the Bugs tab in the user story
we expected that these bugs will inherit the meta data like Release and Team iteration from the parent ticket
but apparently that was not the case
is that a bug or a feature?

Targetprocess SupportAdminTargetprocess Support (Admin, Targetprocess) commented  ·

Right now when a story gets closed and then a bug gets posted to the same story it will get 'Backlog' as default release on not the release from the originating story.
It would be nice to have a Bug created in the same release as the original story as default.

        Hi Nicole,

thank you for idea. In recently released Targetprocess 3.10.5 we've added ability to assign user to a whole Program, this should help already.
        http://screencast.com/t/Orb9GXZn

The rest sounds like a great idea to implement in User batch actions (so far there's only User Custom Fields)

        Yours sincerely,

Indeed hierarchical links (such as Epic > Feature > User Story > Bug) in Targetprocess do not limit assignment of all work items to the same project. And, for example, as a result it is possible to have Features from Project P2 assigned to an Epic from Project P1. The system allows these links and does not consider them as invalid ones.

However such links may prevent entities from being shown in Work Hierarchy tab of Project entity.

In this tab you can see only entities from Epics > Features > User Stories > Tasks, Bugs chain only when all these parent and child entities belong to the same project. When some parent entity belongs to other project, its child entities won’t be shown in Work Hierarchy tab in any Project.

These hidden entities still can be located using other tabs (such as Features tab for an Epic) or views.

          To ensure that…

With new Batch actions (in v3.10) it becomes possible to assign multiple entities onto some person under the role you can choose. (Alex, Support Team)

            Feedback:

I have a view that shows Stories / Bugs by State and Developer.

Our devs don't want to see tickets that they're assigned as a QA Engineer on in their swimlanes. I've been fooling with the filters to accomplish this, but seem unable to figure it out. I was able to do this on their "My Work" view's by using the Assignments.Where(Role.Name is not 'QA Engineer'), but that doesn't have an effect on this particular view.

            There are several options availalbe:
            1. "?Responsible is Me" filter. This filter will only show cards where assigned user is responsible for the current state (e.g. person is assigned as a developer, and the card is in "In dev" state) - won't work since it's a "by Person" board.
            2. "?Assignments.Where(Role is 'Developer' and GeneralUser is Me)" filter that shows only cards where person is assigned as a developer - does not work for me since it's a "by Person" board.
            3. "Hide not Responsible" mashup - https://guide.targetprocess.com/mashups/hide-not-responsible.html - also does not work for me.

Feedback: We have view "Work By Person" board view. It shows tasks per person. People are lanes and States are columns.

Currently if task has two associated users with different roles this task is shown twice in the view - on time for Assignee and one for Reviewer.

We would like to add a Role-based filter or dropdown selector to the Board (like it is made with Time Sheet page).

Say, when Assignee Role is selected then we want to see only cards where Assignee person is selected. If only Reviewer is defined, the card with such assignment should be displayed in the Unassigned row. So we can drag it to the row of some person and assign this person as Assignee (a Role selected in the dropdown).

Usage pattern is the following. Team lead and management want to see assignments for all developers and status of the tasks. Possibly we will filter them for the current sprint only.

Drag-and-drop is not super critical so at least we would like to overview our work and existing assignments on a board. But would be nice to have.

Targetprocess SupportAdminTargetprocess Support (Admin, Targetprocess) commented  ·

People can share roles. Assignee can be Reviewer for other tasks. This is the main problem.

Targetprocess SupportAdminTargetprocess Support (Admin, Targetprocess) commented  ·

Ivan, as another workaround it is possible to create special team within a project, that will group people by required Role in this project. And then create a board for the members of this Team, and share it with Team members. It is more convenient that filtering explicitly by Name.

From the LiveChat: I'd like to add a board to map stories with assigned QA engineers and see how many stories are assigned to each person AS QA engineer Role and manage the correct balance. Could not find the right filter on set up board.

As a workaround this user (who is observer) can simply reply on message that this user receives as an email notification on mention trigger.

Please also note that email integration has to be set for this purpose: https://www.targetprocess.com/guide/settings/how-to-create-requests-from-incoming-email-automatically/

                      Hi Arash,

Right now targetprocess supports Outgoing Webhooks only. We have an article describing how to post updates from targetprocess to Slack: https://www.targetprocess.com/guide/integrations/web-hooks/targetprocess-web-hooks-use-case/

While Incoming Webhooks are not there: https://tp3.uservoice.com/forums/174654-we-will-rock-you/suggestions/6999921-incoming-webhooks-allow-pulling-real-time-updates , backwards integration can be configured with the help of Zapier – third-party application. Please see for the details: https://www.targetprocess.com/guide/integrations/zapier-integration/

                      Best regards,
                      Natalia

                      Hi Arash,

Thank you for your explanation, it is clear!
Unfortunately, it is not possible to set up this integration out-of-the-box.
There is an idea to support integration with slack in the future ( https://tp3.uservoice.com/forums/174654-we-will-rock-you/suggestions/6413237-integration-with-slack ) .

Besides using Zapier, as I suggested in the previous comment, you can use our public REST API to create your own integration. Though, it will require developer's skills. See the getting started guide about rest api: http://dev.targetprocess.com/rest/getting_started

                      Regards,
                      Natalia

This filter could be helpful for hiding empty lanes on current context basis. "Hide Empty Lanes' can sometimes help to hide empty lanes but it works bad with existing pagination engine.

We need to run time reports per user and we need to see which sprint the time was logged under.. So if it's logged to Task #1 > User Story #1 > Iteration #1 then we need to see all of those entities

There is no way we can use reports like that
At the very least we need columns for sprints but also for attached user stories

Feedback: In our Iteration View we show our Sprints, then our User Stories and then our tasks. The User Stories we were able to colorize via visual encoding. I have also noticed however that the underlying tasks get a grey color after they have received the status 'Done'. I would like to be able to do a similar visual encoding for other task statusus. Then the Not Ok task pictured below would get a different color than the other tasks. Is this possible?

'No details...' record is shown in the Team Iteration history when some User Story or Task inside this Team Iteration changes its state.

                                      Question from customer:
How can I quickly see how many points a team completed in the course of a sprint or over the course of several sprints? How can I report on this? It seams fundamental to me that I should be able to look at a project that's been worked on over time and see what the velocity has been per sprint as well as an average velocity.

                                        Hello Rob,
Indeed,by default it is not available. Though you can go to “Customize cards” tab and add a column with Total number of Test Cases ( http://screencast.com/t/57kzEgHZ0f ). Due to the fact that test plan can have other test plans inside it, this count will show amount of test cases in both parent and children test plans. Feel free to ask any further questions if needed.
                                        Best regards,
                                        Bogdan

In my case, the filtering query was obviously fine, but didn't work:

?EntityType is not 'UserStory' or Tasks.Count == 0

I'm afraid, there is no similar solution for List view.
